随着Core 2 Duo的登场，NetBurst架构Pentium和Celeron的退出只剩下了时间问题，一再的降价也成了更新换代的最明显标志。
以下是NetBurst处理器的最新终结进程：
●今年10月：Pentium EE、Pentium D 940/840/830、Celeron D 350/345/310
●明年一季度：Pentium D 960/950、Celeron D 340/330/325/320/315
●明年2月：Pentium D 820、Pentium 4 670/660/650/640/630/524、Celeron D 461/335/326
●明年4月：Pentium D 915、Pentium 4 541/521
根据Intel的最新
降价计划，大部分Pentium D/4都将在明年1月降价一半之多，而Celeron D则会在今年10月和明年1月连续降价，幅度约三分之一。
另外，“Pentium”经典品牌暂时不会消失，而是改用在单核心Conroe-L上，命名为“Pentium E1000”系列，作为作后的单核心在明年第二季度登场，接替Pentium 4和Celeron D成为低端代言人。至于“Celeron”，恐怕要先走一步了。
